Mariana Levy, DDS
Dr. Mariana Levy is our Senior Clinical Partner. As a pediatric dentist with advanced training in orthodontics, she brings more than 35 years of dedicated clinical experience to the practice. Her combined perspective in pediatric dentistry and orthodontics shapes every patient interaction.
Dr. Levy earned her dental degree from the University of Buenos Aires School of Dentistry in 1987. She then completed a General Dentistry Residency and a Pediatric Dentistry Residency at the Eastman Institute of Oral Health in Rochester, New York. She later completed a three-year, full-time orthodontic residency at Universidad Maimonides in Buenos Aires.
Dr. Levy has held faculty positions at some of the most respected institutions in dentistry. She served as Senior Research Health Science Associate in the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. She has also served as Clinical Associate Professor at Universidad Maimonides since 2005.
She is the Coeditor of the Spanish edition of Orthodontic and Orthopedic Treatment in the Mixed Dentition by McNamara and Brudon, published in 1994. The book is considered a landmark orthodontic textbook. Dr. Levy was recognized as being among the top one percent of dental academics and clinicians by Dr. James McNamara, one of the leading figures in American orthodontic education.
Her love for dentistry runs deep. Her father, Dr. Victor Levy, was an orthodontist who practiced from 1957 until the age of 87, just three months before he passed away. She worked alongside him in Buenos Aires early in her career and again from 2003 to 2019, carrying forward a multigenerational legacy of dedication to the profession. Dr. Levy believes dentistry is a service and that every child deserves care that improves not only their smile, but also their confidence and quality of life.
Outside of work, Dr. Levy enjoys reading, tennis, hiking, embroidering, Indian cuisine, musicals, and classic rock.
Faith's Smile
Faith was embarrassed with her smile. She felt she could not even smile. She was very shy and did not make friends easily. She had a missing lateral incisor and a peg lateral tooth. Her mother wanted her to have braces to help her daughter with feel confident about herself. We worked on her spaces, centering her teeth and afterwards, her dentist helped with restorative treatment to give their correct shape.
Vlad's Smile
Vlad was a young bright 12 year old boy. He felt he did not like his smile, since it looked like she had a tooth missing. He did not have enough space for his upper teeth and also presented a deep bite. We placed and expander and after then braces, correcting the bite and space needed.
Millie's Smile
Millie could not close her front teeth and properly function. She was a very shy 14-year-old with a severe open bite. Her mom had consulted several orthodontists who said to her that she would need surgery and could not start her treatment until she finished her growth. We placed a habit appliance and referred her to a speech therapist, to help her re learn her tongue and lip postures. Afterwards we placed braces along with rubber bands to help close her bite.
